nurturing 3 energetic teenagers while growing a thriving Vocal Development
presence in
Not one to be fit into a
specific musical genre, Mother Felker’s (MF) vocal diversity is
most often described as 'soulful.' Add in sultry, beautiful, seamless and
powerful and you begin to realize that hers is an instrument designed for the
discerning ear where the voice is a reflection of the message, and the music is
the vehicle for the journey. When forced to identify with a specific genre, MF
easily responds with her personal adaptation:
“neo-SOUL-try”
“Neo-soultry”, as she describes it, “is simply good music all-grown-up
and flavored by the experience of 40 years of good living.”

For some, music and life are inextricably intertwined. Such is the case for Jared Douglas. At
the age of 4, Jared sang his first church solo - by 13, he was writing
and arranging performances with his musically gifted family. By age 23,
Jared would grace Hollywood studio and stage with world-renowned
producers and musicians more commonly linked to iconic artists such as
Lionel Richie, Luther Vandross, Santana, Mary J. Blige, and Beyonce.
Now,
after a decade in the recording industry, the voice of soulful
singer/songwriter Jared Douglas has reached the ears of worldwide music
lovers, from Hollywood hotspot gigs with his band to national anthems
at sold-out sports arenas. Jared’s songs have been featured on TV &
film, including hit series Sex and the City and Soul Food. His
debut album “Paradise”, recorded partly in Washington DC with
super-producer Rich Harrison and soul star Raheem DeVaughn, spawned the
single “Don’t Make Me Wait”, garnering coast-to-coast radio airplay and
charting alongside the likes of Madonna and Whitney Houston. The ballad
“Better Man” became an instant Asian pop radio smash following a live
national television performance at the Singapore Music Awards.
